Contour Laser Resurfacing

A laser beam will be delivered through a computer controlled device that automatically scans the area of skin being treated. Our highly trained Medical Clinicians can control the depth for either light or deep peels depending on your specific need.

As we age, the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants take their toll on our skin, causing it to wrinkle, develop sun spots and look tired. A Sciton skin resurfacing procedure can reverse these effects and restore a healthy look to the skin.

2 Approaches to Restore Healthy, Younger Looking Skin:

There are two approaches to resurfacing: full field, and fractional.

  1. In full field resurfacing, the entire surface area of the skin is treated. A laser beam is scanned across the treatment area and precisely removes a layer of skin. The body will naturally replace the old, damaged skin that was removed, with a fresh, healthy layer. Treatments can range from shallow (which might be appropriate for eliminating fine lines, sun spots and tired-looking skin) to deep (which is often used to improve skin tone/texture and eliminate deep wrinkles, even in difficult areas like upper lip lines and crow’s feet).
  2. In fractional resurfacing, the laser removes pinpoint columns of skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This approach allows the laser to controllably ablate and coagulate tissue to variable depth, while the surrounding intact tissue promotes rapid healing.

Getting Started:

A Pre Laser Consultation with your clinician is scheduled.
During this appointment your complete medical history will be reviewed with our medical clinicians along with a skin analysis and your treatment goals will be outlined.

Treatment photos will be reviewed so you are familiar with the healing phases. This is your opportunity to ask lots of questions.

When you schedule the Laser treatment, your prescriptions will be called into your pharmacy. These prescriptions are for comfort, anti virals if you have a history of cold sores, and antibiotics if needed. Our Medical Clinicians are highly trained to promote comfort and decrease stress.

Commonly Asked Questions about Laser Skin Resurfacing at PURE

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser Skin Resurfacing is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with minimal downtime, used to improve the overall appearance of your skin. Unlike traditional laser resurfacing, in which layers of skin are removed over the entire treated area, PURE performs fractional resurfacing using Sciton’s ProFractional technology. Tiny microscopic spots of laser energy treat about 20% of the surface area in a typical treatment. The tiny spots of laser energy penetrate deep enough into the skin to remove deep pigmentary problems, such as melasma, and to stimulate synthesis of new collagen, which results in smoothing of wrinkles and acne scars and shrinkage of pore size. Fractional resurfacing laser treatments are safe for all areas of the body and can even improve stretch marks.

Laser Skin Resurfacing at PURE treats sun damage, wrinkles and acne scars and increases collagen production which improves your skin’s tone and texture.

Where can Laser Skin Resurfacing be used?

The most common areas are those that receive the most sun, such as the face, neck, chest and hands.

How long does the treatment take?

A treatment normally takes approximately 20 – 40 minutes, although time varies depending upon the area being treated.

How soon will I see results?

Dramatic results can be seen after just one treatment with continued improvement over time. Frequently four to six treatments are recommended spaced out two to four weeks apart in order to achieve optimal results.

What will I experience after the treatment?

While individual results vary, laser skin resurfacing offers the benefits of speedy healing and minimal downtime. Side effects usually include mild swelling and redness. Mild swelling should subside within two to three days, and redness usually fades over five to seven days. There is limited, if any, risk of infection or scarring.

How much does Laser Skin Resurfacing cost at PURE?

Each body area has a different price and every person’s skin requires a different number of treatments for the best results. Please contact us for a specific cost.
